Do I need a membership to buy something from Public Goods?
You can try any Public Goods product with a free, two week trial membership. By using a membership model, we're able to deliver a better value than traditional brands. Annual membership is $79 after your trial ends.

Most brands go through four suppliers before selling you a product. That adds cost at every step. We work through a membership model instead that allows us to deliver the highest quality at a minimal margin. We ethically source, partnering with the best vendors around the globe to offer products that are good for you, good for your wallet and good for the planet.
What makes Public Goods products more sustainable?
We use the most eco-friendly innovations whenever possible, from 100% Post-Consumer Plastic bottles to tree-free paper and toxin-free ingredients. We carefully select ethical vendors, stick to essentials, and never go overboard on choice. Better-made, longer-lasting products with high-end, ethically sourced ingredients inherently make less waste and pollution. We also find them more enjoyable to use.
Why do we plant a tree for every order placed?
Planting trees is one of the most effective ways to combat climate change. We've partnered with Eden Reforestation Projects, whose mission is to reduce extreme poverty and restore healthy forests by employing local villagers to plant millions of trees every year. We've planted more than 330,000 trees and counting.
Are all of your products organic, gluten-free, non-GMO, etc?
Each product we make meets the highest standards possible. Most of our products are certified organic and
we've made sure to include plenty of options that are vegan-friendly, gluten-free and tree free. Each product
is clearly marked with the certifications that it meets. We think shopping for specific dietary needs should
be straightforward, so you can shop each category easily.

Shipping + orders
Where is my order?
We typically ship orders within 1- 2 business days M-F excluding holidays. Once your order ships you will receive an email with your tracking number. You can also track your order online through your account dashboard. Here you can view your complete order history or a single order as well as reorder your favorite items.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is free for orders $45 or more. If your order does not meet the free shipping threshold, shipping costs will vary based on the weight of your order and your area code. Orders that qualify for free shipping will be shipped Standard Ground.
Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, USVI
We offer discounted shipping to non-contiguous states and US territories. While shipping to these areas can be expensive, we are looking for improved options to get products to you. Unfortunately, USPS does not allow us to ship orders weighing over 40 lbs. to non-contiguous states and US territories.
Do you ship to Canada?
We do! Shipping to Canada is $50 for orders $200 or more.
For orders under the $200 flat rate shipping threshold, rates will vary based on the weight of your order and your area code. To find your shipping cost for orders under $200, add items to your cart and enter your address at checkout.
The duties required for your area code will also be applied at checkout. Orders that qualify for free shipping will ship Standard Ground.
What is your return/refund policy?
If something didn’t meet your high standards, let us know. We want to make it better and make you happy.
If you receive a defective or damaged order, we’re happy to refund it within 30 days. Your refund will be issued as a credit via your original payment method. Please allow additional time for your banking or financial institution to process your credit.
If for any other reason you’re not happy with your purchase, you can return any unused product within 30 days of receiving it. Contact us and we’ll provide you with a return shipping label. There is a $5 restocking fee which will be deducted from your refund.
How do I sign up?
Your membership is automatically added to your cart when you checkout for the first time.
My annual membership is almost up. What happens next?
So you can enjoy uninterrupted benefits, your membership will automatically renew and you will be charged your annual membership fee. If you wish to cancel your account you can email our customer service team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I’d like to cancel my membership.
We'll miss you but, to cancel your free trial or annual membership account, email our customer service team at email@example.com. For annual memberships, please note that we refund a prorated membership fee for each month that your annual membership is active.
I’m having trouble logging in.
How does auto shipment feature work?
With this new feature you can now set up an automatic delivery of your favorite PG products and save. The auto shipment is completely flexible and you can set your delivery schedule to a frequency that suits you depending on how quickly you get through your product.
How much is shipping for my auto-shipments?
You will always get free shipping on any order $45+. There is a flat shipping cost of $9 if the $45 threshold is not met.
Where do I manage my auto-shipment(s)?
Log in to your Public Goods account and go to the "My Account” section. There you can navigate to your “Auto Shipments” tab. You can see your upcoming shipments, edit existing auto shipments and add new products here.
How do I know if I have an auto-shipment?
Once logged in, under the "My Account” section navigate to your “Auto Shipments” tab and see your “Upcoming Auto Shipments”. If you have any upcoming auto-shipments you will see them listed with the date there.
How do I edit my auto-shipment?
Once logged in, under the "My Account” section navigate to your “Auto Shipments” tab. There you see the “Manage Auto Shipments” tab, click “EDIT” on the product(s). You can edit the product quantity, order frequency, payment method and shipping address here for that auto shipment product.
How do I add products to my auto-shipment?
You must go to the “Manage Auto Shipments” tab and click “EDIT” on the product. There you are able to “Add Item” search for whatever product you want and “add auto-shipment”. Once submitted this new product will be added to this auto shipment on the delivery cadence you already have selected.
What does it mean to “skip” an auto shipment order?
If you hit “skip” on an auto shipment product the next scheduled delivery date of the product will not be sent out. Your auto shipment will resume with the scheduled delivery date after the skipped date has passed.
How do I cancel an auto-shipment order?
In your “Manage Auto Shipments” tab, click “EDIT” on the product(s) and there is an option to “Delete Auto Shipment.” This will end any auto shipment you have with the selected product.
